A. Schnabel
Ambassador Schnabel was the United States ambassador to the European Union
from 2001 to 2005. He previously served as acting secretary and deputy secretary
of Commerce, and ambassador to Finland. A longtime businessman, he is one of
the founding partners of Trident Capital, a California-based venture capital
firm. He was president of the brokerage firm Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards
(now Wachovia Bank). Ambassador Schnabel was born in the Netherlands where
he attended Trinity College. He has written for the Wall Street
Journal Europe, the Financial Times, the Washington
Times and a host of
other publications. He has appeared on CBS, CNBC, the Charlie Rose Show, Fox
News, BBC Television, BBC Radio, and Bloomberg TV.
All of his net proceeds from this book will go to endow the Rockwell
Anthony Schnabel Award for Advancing U.S. – EU Relations which
recognizes outstanding efforts in advancing U.S. policy objectives through
cooperation with the EU. |

Francis X. Rocca is an American journalist based in Rome. He has written
about European business, politics, and culture for the Wall Street
Journal, Time,
the (London) Spectator, the Jerusalem Post, Forbes,
the Chronicle of Higher Education, BusinessWeek, the Atlantic
Monthly, and the American Spectator. A former Fulbright fellow
in Spain, he is a graduate of Gonzaga College High School, Harvard College
(A.B.), St. John's College, Annapolis (M.A.), and Yale University (Ph.D.). |
